Ben-Gvir Calls for Assassination of Palestinian Officials If Statehood Advances
"A 'Palestinian' state of the 'invented people' who call themselves 'Palestinian' must never be established, because the aspiration of those seeking to establish such a state is to build it on the ruins of the State of Israel,"
"'If they accelerate the recognition of the Palestinian terrorist state, and the UN recognises a Palestinian state, targeted assassinations of senior Palestinian Authority officials, who are terrorists for all intents and purposes, should be ordered,'"
"There must also be an arrest put out for Abbas, he said, adding: 'There is a solitary confinement cell ready for him in Ketziot Prison.'"
Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel's National Security Minister, called for the assassination of senior Palestinian Authority officials and for the arrest and solitary confinement of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas if international moves toward Palestinian statehood progress. Ben-Gvir declared Palestinian identity invented and condemned a U.S. Security Council resolution suggesting a credible pathway to Palestinian statehood. He stated that recognition of a Palestinian state should trigger targeted assassinations of PA leaders, whom he described as terrorists, and specifically demanded an arrest warrant for Abbas, saying a solitary confinement cell in Ketziot Prison was prepared for him. The remarks were made at an Otzma Yehudit party meeting.
