Amnesty International called for a war crimes investigation into the April assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur. An NGO report documents dozens of witness accounts describing large-scale attacks between April 11 and 13, including the deployment of explosives in populated areas and random shooting in residential neighborhoods. Witnesses recounted at least 47 civilians being fatally shot while hiding, fleeing or sheltering in a mosque. The assault occurred while the RSF laid siege to el-Fasher, and the RSF now controls North Darfur and is advancing east into West Kordofan, increasing mass displacement.
