Amazon will invest an additional $35 billion in India by 2030, raising its planned commitment to about $75 billion to expand retail and cloud operations. The investment will support digitization of small businesses, strengthen logistics and operations, and aim to enable AI access for up to 15 million small businesses. Amazon aims to generate 1 million direct, indirect, induced and seasonal jobs by 2030. Amazon previously invested nearly $40 billion in India and had announced a $15 billion pledge in 2023, including $12.7 billion for AWS. Other major tech firms are also committing large investments in India amid intense local e-commerce competition.
