The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics officially began on Feb. 6 in Italy, with Olympians settled into temporary homes for roughly two weeks. Organizers erected six Olympic Villages across Italy to house more than 2,900 athletes representing over 90 countries. Milan hosts Team USA accommodations while Cortina features temporary structures built specifically for athletes. Villages include amenities such as a "Cero Stress Plant Shop" where competitors can borrow greenery to personalize living quarters. Canadian figure skater Madeline Schizas named her plant Ilya Rozanov after a Heated Rivalry character. Olympic coverage continues throughout the Games.
