She and her girlfriend, fellow Olympian and speed skater Brittany Bowe, got engaged on Wednesday, after connecting at the 2022 Games in Beijing. "I think I was more nervous for the proposal than I was for the gold medal game to be honest, and my legs felt like jello," Knight confessed to reporters after her big win."

Alpine skier Breezy Johnson won Team USA's first gold medal of the Games and became engaged to boyfriend Connor Watkins days later. Twenty-two-year-old Laila Edwards became the first Black woman to represent Team USA in Olympic hockey and the first Black woman to win a gold medal in USA women's hockey.
