Kupcho ends nearly 3-year LPGA winless drought
""I really just wasn't thinking about anything else," Kupcho said. "I think in my mind I had set on 14 under, so I was really just trying to get to that number.""
""I worked for Financial Forum for 100 days and then got out," Lee said. "Then I realize, 'Oh, I'm good at golf.' So I got to teach golf.""
Jennifer Kupcho claimed victory at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, marking her first win in nearly three years. With a remarkable performance highlighted by three birdies in the last five holes, she concluded with a 5-under 66, finishing at 15-under for the tournament. Ilhee Lee, who led after 36 holes, couldn’t secure the win despite a strong finish of her own and ended with a 68. The challenging conditions on the rain-soaked course saw Lee recover on the back nine, but it was not enough to overtake Kupcho, who maintained her focus throughout.
