Katy Perry hails 'incredible' crew as female-only Blue Origin space flight blasts off
Briefly

Katy Perry embarked on an exciting space journey as part of an all-female crew for Jeff Bezos's New Shepard NS-31 mission. The 40-year-old pop star, along with five inspiring women, launched from West Texas, aiming to cross the Karman line—an altitude of 62 miles above Earth. The mission, marked by Perry's enthusiasm and calls to her co-pilots, demonstrated a significant moment in space exploration, celebrating women's representation. Perry expressed her long-time dream of traveling to space and planned to share a performance during the short flight. The journey lasted approximately 11 minutes.
I've dreamt of going to space for 15 years and tomorrow that dream becomes a reality. I am so honored to be alongside five other incredible and inspiring women as we become the first ever all-female flight space crew!
The trip, launching at 2.30pm BST (8.30am local time) on Monday, is expected to last around 11 minutes, and pass over the Karman line - an invisible boundary 62 miles (100km) above Earth.
Mission control could be heard saying it 'looks good' as the rocket reached 'supersonic' as it soared into the skies, while Perry could be heard cheering onboard.
Perry earlier hailed the 'incredible and inspiring' women who will be joining her on a flight into space.
