Decorated Olympic boxer Imane Khelif claps back at Trump: 'I'm not intimidated'
Briefly

Imane Khelif, an Algerian female boxer and Olympic gold medalist, has responded to Donald Trump's derogatory remarks regarding her identity amid a broader controversy over transgender athletes in sports. Despite facing backlash from public figures questioning her eligibility following a Russian boxing ruling and their claims about her chromosomes, she maintains compliance with IOC regulations. The IOC supports her stance, clarifying that her participation is not a transgender matter. Khelif asserts she is not transgender and stands firm against intimidation, expressing her resolve to compete in future Olympic events.
I will give you a straightforward answer: the US president issued a decision related to transgender policies in America. I am not transgender. This does not concern me and it does not intimidate me. As we say in Algeria: those who have nothing to hide should have no fear.
The IOC backed Khelif and Yu-ting, questioning the validity of the Russian tests, and IOC spokesperson Mark Adams said not only did she meet Olympic eligibility criteria, but also that it was 'not a transgender issue'.
