An S.F. abortion doctor delivers a new voice in reproductive rights in debut novel
Briefly

Christine Henneberg, initially a creative writing major, shifted her focus to medicine, becoming a women's health doctor and abortion provider. She has combined her medical career with her writing, publishing op-eds and a memoir about her experiences in reproductive care. Her debut novel, "I Trust Her Completely," explores complex themes of motherhood and friendship through the lens of a queer writer and an abortion doctor, set against the vibrant backdrop of San Francisco. Henneberg continues to advocate for reproductive justice through various events.
I was not interested in the big picture, epidemiology, solving public health problems. I think the problems themselves are interesting, but the level I wanted to be working at was the level of the individual, because that's where the story is.
The doctor’s debut novel tells the story of Josie, a queer writer determined to start a family, and her friend Radhika, an abortion doctor with troubling secrets.
