Team USA won the women's Olympic ice hockey gold in Milan, defeating Canada 2-1 in overtime after a last-touch goal by captain Hilary Knight in her final Olympics. Hilary Knight got engaged this week to American speed skater Brittany Bowe. The Americans had been out-fought and out-thought for much of the final and were nearly beaten by a team they had defeated 5-0 in the preliminary round nine days earlier. The U.S. recorded dominant results throughout the tournament. The 2026 roster includes 23 players, 13 forwards, seven defenders, three goaltenders, 21 world championship returnees and 11 Olympic returnees. John Wroblewski leads the coaching staff.
