Top-5 recruit Robinson picks Staley's Gamecocks
"I was guided by my faith throughout my recruitment. I just consulted the Lord. I sought him out, asked for direction and some guidance. And after talking to him and my family, we came to the decision that South Carolina was home for me."
"I chose South Carolina because I had a sense of peace when it came down to the decision for me,"
""It was all in God's time," said Robinson. "You can't rush that, you can't stop that, you can't speed that up...when I visited South Carolina, I was already home. I was already valued there...I felt like this was where I needed to be for the next four years.""
Jerzy Robinson, the No. 5-ranked player in the girls' SportsCenter NEXT 100 class of 2026, committed to South Carolina. The 17-year-old, 6-foot-2 guard from Sierra Canyon becomes Dawn Staley's highest-rated 2026 recruit and was the final five-star to commit in that class. Robinson made an official visit to South Carolina in late October after also visiting UConn and LSU. Robinson cited faith and a sense of peace as the driving factors in her decision, describing the choice as a full-circle moment after first meeting Staley at age 14. South Carolina enters off an SEC championship, a Final Four appearance, and an 89-game win streak vs. unranked opponents.
