"The league's first Canadian team, which took part in its inaugural expansion draft earlier this month, will compete this season in the seven-team Eastern Conference and will be coached by Sandy Brondello."
Toronto Tempo will play their first WNBA pre-season game against the Connecticut Sun at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The Sun had a disappointing previous season, finishing 11th with an 11-33 record. As the first Canadian team in the league, the Tempo will compete in the Eastern Conference and be coached by Sandy Brondello. They will begin their 22-game home schedule on May 8 against the Washington Mystics. The team will reduce their roster from 19 to 12 players before the season opener. Kia Nurse expressed excitement about making history in Canada.
