"In five seasons with the Thorns, Wilson has scored 44 goals across all competitions. She was named the NWSL's MVP in 2022 after helping Portland win the championship. She won the Golden Boot in 2023, when she led the league with 11 goals."
Sophia Wilson has been cleared to return to the Portland Thorns after spending the 2025 season on maternity leave following the birth of her daughter Gianna in September. The 25-year-old striker is now available for selection as the Thorns prepare for the 2026 NWSL regular season beginning March 13 against Washington Spirit. Wilson may debut in a friendly against Liga MX Femenil's Monterrey on March 6. She was unavailable for the SheBelieves Cup with the USWNT but expressed readiness to return. Wilson, a Paris Olympics gold medalist and two-time World Cup participant, has scored 24 goals in 58 national team appearances and won NWSL MVP in 2022.
