"On a night honoring JuJu Watkins, maybe the school's most accomplished athlete ever, the Sierra Canyon boys' basketball team did her alma mater proud by holding off Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 78-74 on Friday in a Mission League showdown in Chatsworth. The game aired live on ESPN2 and the host Trailblazers relished the opportunity to showcase their skills on a national stage, showing why they deserve to be ranked among the best in the country."

Sierra Canyon defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 78-74 in a Mission League contest in Chatsworth while retiring JuJu Watkins' No. 12 jersey at halftime. The game aired on ESPN2 as Sierra Canyon displayed scoring depth: Brandon McCoy 21, Brannon Martinsen 18, Maximo Adams 17 and Jordan Mize 12. Sierra Canyon trailed 33-28 at halftime but opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run capped by Mize's three. The Trailblazers improved to 15-1 overall, extended a 10-game winning streak, and remained ranked No. 1 in the Southland. NaVorro Bowman Jr. led Notre Dame with 36 points.
