No. 1 UConn wins its 24th Big East Tournament title, routing Villanova 90-51

"I think it's a great accomplishment what we've been able to achieve so far this year. We'll have a couple days off and our work isn't done yet. Being Big East champion won't really matter in a couple of weeks. The focus remains on the ultimate goal of winning the national championship."

"It was the 50th consecutive win for the defending national champion Huskies (34-0), who enter the women's NCAA Tournament undefeated for the 11th time in their storied history. The Huskies own four of the five longest winning streaks in Division I, including a record 111-game run."

UConn's women's basketball team defeated Villanova 90-51 to capture their 24th Big East Tournament championship while maintaining an undefeated 34-0 record. Azzi Fudd scored 19 points and Sarah Strong contributed 18 points while earning Most Outstanding Player honors. The Huskies dominated from the start, leading 23-11 after the first quarter and 49-23 at halftime. This victory marks UConn's 50th consecutive win and their sixth Big East Tournament title since rejoining the conference in 2021. The defending national champions enter the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed, seeking their 13th national title. UConn has entered the tournament undefeated 11 times in program history.
