""The past certainly dictates the now and the girls hung tough in the whole tournament and connected with the nation,""
""I thought we were superb defensively in the tournament; our attack didn't need to be at its best but it was effective enough to get the job done.""
""We smashed it out there today and I can't thank the girls enough for putting their bodies on the line,""
England defeated Canada 33-13 in the Women's Rugby World Cup final at Twickenham, scoring five tries to Canada's three. The victory completed an unbeaten 33-match streak, the longest in international rugby, and gave England its third World Cup title after wins in 1994 and 2014. The final at Allianz Stadium attracted 81,885 spectators, the largest crowd in women's rugby history. England combined power, pace and disciplined defense to disrupt Canada's offloading game. Canada reached the final unbeaten, with Asia Hogan-Rochester scoring two tries and Sophie de Goede earning 2025 World Rugby Player of the Year honors.
