The Chicago Sky are a bad team with dim prospects and significant work required to contend for WNBA championships. Angel Reese demanded better roster construction and insisted on acquiring good and great players as non-negotiable. League stars have avoided the Sky because of lagging facilities and a barebones staff, and the front office has missed value signings and draft opportunities. The Sky traded this year's third overall pick for veteran Ariel Atkins and surrendered future swap rights, while the Mystics used the pick on Sonia Citron, who became a rookie All-Star and will be under team control for three more seasons. The Sky hold one of the league's worst records and missed the playoffs again.
