The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Phoenix Mercury 97-86, completing a 4-0 sweep in the first best-of-seven WNBA Finals to win their third championship in four years. A'ja Wilson scored 31 points in the clinching game and was named Finals MVP. The Aces were .500 on Aug. 2 after a 53-point loss but finished the regular season with a 16-game winning streak to secure the No. 2 seed. The team endured challenging first-round and semifinal series that went the distance before delivering a dominant Finals performance. Coach Becky Hammon credited the players for the championship.
