Bring protective clothing and footwear for dust and temperature changes: goggles with foam, a sweatshirt, loose loungewear or PJs, slider sandals, many socks, cotton underwear, and sneakers for camp work. Include a clean, Ziploc-protected outfit for the trip home. Prepare for unexpected weather with a rain jacket and waterproof shoes to avoid mud challenges. Conserve and bring all water; gray water cannot be spilled on the playa. Stock toiletries: wipes, witch hazel, lotions, foot cream, razors, toothbrushes, plus a second kit with first aid, sunscreen, chapstick, nasal saline, hand sanitizer, and topical pain relief.

Next time, I'll throw in a rain jacket and waterproof shoes. Walking to the bathroom with my feet covered in garbage bags is an experience I'd rather not repeat. Most people don't shower during their Burning Man experience. You have to bring all your water to Black Rock City, and you can't spill any used for cooking, cleaning, or bathing (known as "Gray Water" in Burner lingo) onto the playa.
