Chrome’s built-in AI can summarize documents, but non-PDF formats require converting parsed content into text. OfficeParser makes parsing Office files straightforward, yet turning results into meaningful text for model analysis previously required custom handling per file type, such as converting Excel structures into CSV. A newer OfficeParser v7 adds a to method that converts files into CSV, Markdown, RTF, PDF, Text, and HTML. HTML output is generated directly from the parsed document for richer results rather than converting Markdown to HTML. A demo provides a file picker and tabs for Text, Markdown, HTML, and CSV to test conversions without using Chrome AI features.
"The good news is Harsh Ankur (the author of this awesome library) released a v7 that added a to method that supports converting files to CSV, Markdown, RTF, PDF, Text, and HTML. Even better, his HTML support isn't just "convert to Markdown then render the Markdown to html", but proper support straight from the parsed doc to create a richer result."
