Sony's New Premium Headphones - 1000x The Collexion
Briefly

Sony WH-1000X The Collection headphones present a more premium design than the WH-1000XM6, with stainless steel sliders, pleather headband and cushions, and deeper ear cups for improved comfort. Two colorways are offered, including a white option with stainless steel that emphasizes an elegant, nearly floating slider look. The headphones are slimmer than the XM6 by about 5mm, while appearing larger due to metal placement and accents. Touch controls are integrated into the ear cups. A hard-shell case with a magnetic clasp opens and closes one-handed, with a purse-like handle for carrying. Cable organization is limited, and only one cable is included. Improved drivers and exclusive features are included for enhanced sound quality.
"Sony has one-upped their XM6 headphones with an even more premium pair featuring a more luxurious design with smooth metal headband sliders, pleather cushions, and deeper ear cups that are infinitely more comfortable than the XM6s. The drivers have been improved and new exclusive features added. These are called Sony 1000X The Collection, with the X in collection for branding purposes. These are very limited production initially, meant to celebrate 10 years of the WH-1000X series."
"These aren't just a special colorway of the XM6sthey have fundamental differences in the headphones, case, and sound quality. There are two colorways: black and white. The white colorway with stainless steel looks particularly good. The design features stainless steel sliders that look elegant and almost floating. The headband has pleather all the way around that looks and feels like real leather, though it's technically not. There's a thick cushion across the top and around the ear cups."
"The case is a mixed bag. It looks like a purse but is actually well-designed. It features a magnetic clasp allowing one-handed opening and closing, though it doesn't close quite as well as the XM6 case if headphones aren't fully compressed. It's a hard shell case matching the headphones. You don't need to do "headphone gymnastics" folding themjust close and place them in. The purse-like design has a handle useful for clipping to backpacks. The only drawback is that cables sit in a pouch without dedicated organization, and only one cable comes in the box."
