Oppo's Find X8 Ultra, initially rumored for a March release, is now confirmed to launch in April, according to product manager Zhou Yibao. It may be the only Ultra model from a Chinese brand this year featuring a flat screen. Key features include a 6.82-inch 2K OLED display, a 1-inch main camera, and advanced telephoto capabilities. Additionally, Oppo plans to introduce a new ultra-thin small-screen flagship, likely the Find X8 Mini, aimed at competing with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air.
Today Oppo Find series product manager Zhou Yibao officially revealed that the Find X8 Ultra is actually going to be unveiled in April, and it will also go on sale that same month.
Zhou says this could very well be the only Ultra phone coming from a Chinese manufacturer this year with a flat screen.
The Ultra has been rumored to sport a 6.82-inch '2K' OLED screen made by BOE, a 1-inch type main camera, and two periscope telephoto cameras along with an ultrawide.
The rebranding may mean Oppo wants to position it against the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone 17 Air, seeing as how it's rumored to be between 7 mm and 7.99 mm thin.
