Meta teams up with Oakley on AI sports glasses with a hidden camera
"The Oakley Meta Vanguard is a new line of AI sports glasses that is 'designed to give athletes a competitive edge'. At first glance, the futuristic gadget looks like any other sports glasses, with a wraparound design and reflective lenses. However, upon closer inspection, you'll notice a small camera hidden in the centre of the glasses, allowing wearers to capture their workouts completely hands-free."
"Like most of Oakley's existing sports glasses, the Oakley Meta Vanguard feature a wraparound design using Oakley's PRIZM Lens technology, which is designed to block out sun, wind and dust. The middle of the lens features a small 12MP camera with a 122-degree wide-angle lens. Simply using the command 'Hey Meta', wearers can immediately capture first-person footage, with the options for Slow Motion or Hyperlapse."
Oakley Meta Vanguard is a collaboration between Meta and Oakley producing AI sports glasses with a wraparound design and reflective lenses. The glasses include a small centre-mounted 12MP camera with a 122-degree wide-angle lens for completely hands-free workout capture, activated by the voice command 'Hey Meta' and offering Slow Motion and Hyperlapse modes. The arms house open-ear speakers with around six hours of continuous playback. The glasses use Oakley PRIZM Lens technology to block sun, wind and dust. The product was announced at Meta Connect and is priced at £499/$499, positioned for athletes and fitness influencers.
