"Adaptive Audio: Your earbuds will now help you stay aware of your surroundings while still keeping out unwanted noise. "Loud Noise Protection: If a loud noise occurs suddenly around you, like a fire truck's siren blaring, your earbuds will help reduce the level of sound that reaches your ears. Pixel Buds Pro 2 receive an update that adds adaptive audio, loud-noise protection, head-gesture controls, and improved Gemini Live performance in noisy environments. Adaptive audio adjusts noise suppression based on surrounding sound levels to balance awareness and isolation during activities such as running, biking, commuting, or exercising. Loud Noise Protection reduces incoming levels from sudden loud sources like sirens while explicitly excluding protection from sudden impulse sounds such as gunshots, explosions, or fireworks. Head gestures enable hands-free call and text handling, including nodding to answer or reply and shaking the head to decline. The update will roll out to eligible devices over the next few weeks.
