Google Wallet is adding tap-to-pay for kids
Briefly

In the upcoming weeks, Google Wallet will introduce a feature allowing children to use tap-to-pay services on Android devices, contingent on parental approval via the Family Link app. This update will enable kids to store various digital passes, including event tickets and gift cards. Parents will maintain oversight by receiving notifications of transactions, being able to track purchases, and removing payment options on demand. Similar to Apple’s Family Sharing, this feature aims to provide a secure platform for children's financial interactions on mobile devices, initially launching in several regions including the US and UK.
Google Wallet's latest update will let kids download the app and use tap-to-pay on Android with parental consent. The feature will also let kids store digital passes.
Parents will be able to control whether their child has access to Google Wallet through the Family Link app, ensuring oversight on purchases.
