Harris, who admitted to purchasing the drugs from Florida, named at least 10 local officers and deputies, including former Antioch cop Devon Wenger, who faces charges of conspiracy to distribute synthetic testosterone. The case highlights broader issues within law enforcement regarding misconduct, particularly following previous serious allegations against Wenger and peers in various malpractices.
"This was not a case about someone who just bought steroids for his own use," Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric de la Torre stated, emphasizing the extensive network involved.
"We have multiple law enforcement officers purchasing and distributing illegal steroids, which is a significant violation of the trust placed in them by the community," said Harris during his testimony.
