Magic CEO transferring to new role in front office
Briefly

Alex Martins, the long-serving CEO of the Orlando Magic, will step down from his role on July 1, transitioning to the newly created position of vice chair. This move is part of a restructuring within the team's front office. Over his 14-year tenure as CEO and since joining the team in 1989, Martins has made significant contributions, prompting the organization to leverage his experience in a senior advisory role. Meanwhile, Charlie Freeman will oversee business operations, without appointing a new CEO, while Ryan DeVos will become managing director.
"Leading the Magic as CEO has been one of the greatest blessings of my life," he said.
When Alex communicated his intention to retire several years ago, our family decided to create a new role leveraging his experience.
