Kelsey Plum goes off on officiating after Sparks loss against Valkyries
Briefly

The Los Angeles Sparks faced a disappointing overtime loss to the Valkyries, marked by poor offensive performance in the final minutes. Postgame discussions revealed significant frustration regarding officiating, particularly from Kelsey Plum, who felt she was not being adequately protected by referees during the game. Her remarks included grievances about receiving only six free-throw attempts despite enduring physical play. This issue, highlighted by Plum's visible injuries, raises concerns about how officials are allowing increased physicality against her, which could impact future games. Coach Lynne Roberts also noted the need for league discussions about the officiating standards.
I'm going to get fined for saying this, but I drive more than anyone in the league. So, to shoot six free throws is fu--ing absurd. And I got scratches on my face.
They're fouling the s--t out of me every single play. So I'm very frustrated with that and I'm sick of it.
Obviously, the scouting report is to be as physical as you can with her and it's being allowed.
If Plum is driving to the paint and being played so physically and the officials aren't calling it, teams will only increase that physicality.
