Hawks head coach Quin Snyder missed the game against the Bucks due to flu-like symptoms, surprising players who were unaware until shortly before tipoff. Assistant coach Igor Kokoskov stepped in as acting coach. Despite Snyder's absence, players felt the game plan remained unchanged. Trae Young highlighted the unexpected situation by expressing disappointment over not securing a win for Snyder. Kokoskov, a seasoned coach with 19 years in the NBA, has a notable career but has previously faced challenges, including a rough stint as a head coach in Phoenix.
ATLANTA -- Hawks coach Quin Snyder sat out Tuesday night's 127-121 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks with an illness, as assistant Igor Kokoskov served as acting coach.
None of us knew until right before tipoff. He was here early. It kind of surprised us but we still had a game to go play. It sucks we couldn't get him the win.
I think the game plan is the same. It's just a different person.
Kokoskov, a native of Serbia who has coached in the NBA for 19 years, was the choice to fill in.
