Trump returned to New London, Connecticut at noon to deliver the commencement address to the United States Coast Guard Academy for a second time as commander in chief. He said he was thrilled to be the first president to give a second keynote address to the institution, while noting that Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama had also done so. He praised the honor and emphasized the need to put one’s head down and fight in the face of danger. He highlighted the Coast Guard’s role in the Iran war, while cadets showed limited enthusiasm with scattered applause.
"The last time Mr. Trump spoke here, it was 2017. He was having a very different presidency, beset by very different crises. And yet You have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight, Mr. Trump said in 2017. Whatever danger comes our way, you will fight, fight, fight, he said Wednesday."
