Tom Wilson dumps Powerade on Justin Sourdif's head after rookie's first carerer hat trick
"Screenshot: Monumental Sports Network/X Tom Wilson was unable to play against the Anaheim Ducks due to a lower-body injury, but he still managed to make an impact in a big way after the Washington Capitals' 7-4 victory. Wilson, who was wearing a full suit, snuck down the tunnel and poured a bottle of blue Powerade over Sourdif's head as he did his post-game interview with Al Koken on the bench."
"Wilson then ran back to the locker room. A surprised Sourdif took a second to re-gather himself and then smiled it off, completing the interview like the total pro that he is."
""Just like that," Sourdif said. "We all love each other in there. When the guys are so close like that and having fun, it's so easy to play, and it's fun to come to the rink." Sourdif on the night had five points, scoring three goals - his first professional hat trick - and assisting on two others."

Sourdif was surprised, then smiled and completed the interview. Sourdif recorded five points that night, scoring three goals for his first professional hat trick and adding two assists. Only Macklin Celebrini matched five points by a rookie this season. Only one other Capitals rookie, defenseman Greg Theberge on Nov. 21, 1981, had recorded five points in a game.
