Terik Parascak on his goals for his second season in Capitals organization: 'Become a leader at the junior level or try to make my step in [the] pros'
""Yeah, it's definitely a little easier [the second time], I would say," Parascak said. "More comfortable with all the staff and the surroundings as well. It always helps, being a little familiar with everything.""
""It's been good," Parascak said. "It kind of just gives you a little head start, gets you on the ice a little bit before main camp starts up. Just an opportunity to get to know the younger guys a little bit better, and I'm familiar with a lot of them now. So, it's just been fun to get on the ice and work on some things before heading into main camp.""
Terik Parascak, the Capitals' 17th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, returns for his second rookie camp as a 19-year-old winger under contract with Washington. The rookie camp at the Naval Academy provides on-ice work at McMullen Hockey Arena and serves as a head start before the main training camp. Parascak feels more comfortable with staff, surroundings and teammates after last year's experience and time as a Hershey Bears playoff black ace. He has built bonds with other top prospects, including recent pick Lynden Lakovic, aided by shared living arrangements this week.
