Spencer Carbery, head coach of the Washington Capitals, will join Ryan Huska and DJ Smith as assistants for Team Canada at the 2026 World Championship. Carbery, the reigning Jack Adams Award winner, has prior coaching experience with Team Canada at the junior level. The Capitals finished their season without a playoff appearance, ending with a record of 43-30-9. Forward Ryan Leonard will represent the Capitals on Team USA. The tournament starts on May 15, with the gold medal game on May 31.
