"Sourdif is arguably coming off the two best games of his NHL career, in which he made an impact both physically and on the scoreboard. In Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the New York Rangers, Sourdif record his first career multi-goal game, notching his first career power-play goal and his first career empty-net goal. The 23-year-old rookie followed that performance up with his most physical game to date, dropping Ottawa Senators' defenseman Thomas Chabot with a massive hit behind the net"
"Sourdif missed the team's optional morning skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, prompting lineup questions for head coach Spencer Carbery. The team had the day off on Friday after playing back-to-back matinee games against the New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators. "I think [Sourdif will be good to go]," Carbery said. "We've got a few game-times, so we'll know more tonight, but hopefully.""
Justin Sourdif missed the optional morning skate, but coach Spencer Carbery expects him to likely play after game-time evaluations. Sourdif posted his first multi-goal game, first power-play goal and first empty-net goal during a 6-3 win over the New York Rangers. He then delivered a physical game against the Ottawa Senators, including a hit that dropped Thomas Chabot and his first NHL fight with Drake Batherson. Sourdif also recorded two assists, one a primary on Aliaksei Protas's late game-tying goal. Protas left part of that game after a dangerous trip by Artem Zub. Logan Thompson will start in goal and has allowed four-plus goals in four of his last five losses. Connor Bedard remains out for the Blackhawks.
