He watched the Montreal Canadiens play the Carolina Hurricanes, a game the Hurricanes won 3-2 in overtime. Kuznetsov attended with his wife Anastasia Kuznetsova and their children Ecenia and Fedor, with Ecenia wearing a Canadiens jersey. Kuznetsov previously spent 11 seasons with the Washington Capitals and later played for the Carolina Hurricanes, where he was traded in 2024. He appeared to be in Montreal to support Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov, with whom he played on SKA Saint Petersburg in the KHL. Kuznetsov’s 2025-26 season included stints with Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Salavat Yulaev Ufa, where he produced 18 points in 19 games. His agent indicated he could move to Switzerland’s National League if he cannot find a suitable role in the KHL or NHL.
