"Hopefully, [we see] the same stuff we saw when he (Frank) came up last year," Carbery said after the team's morning skate. "This is just a little bit earlier, timing-wise. Speed on display with and without the puck. Any opportunity he gets to attack the net with his shot, and then really good with his positioning, his reads, playing inside of our structure."
"[The chances] didn't go in for him, which I think was sort of part of the reason that... I don't want to say that we sent him down because of that, but a big part of what Franky does and what he needs to do is be able to chip in the odd time," Carbery said. "He doesn't have to score 30 goals or even 20 goals, but for a few of those to fall to not only get on the board, but to give him a little bit of confidence and swagger."
The Washington Capitals make a lineup change after a loss, recalling winger Ethen Frank and scratching Sonny Milano. Frank will make his season debut after being promoted from the Hershey Bears. Frank recorded seven points in 24 NHL games last season and scored two goals in two AHL appearances this year. He played four preseason games without scoring but added two assists. Coach Spencer Carbery praised Frank's speed, positioning and net-attacking instincts and emphasized the need for occasional goals to build confidence and create swagger in his game.
