Charlie Lindgren debuts new pads at Capitals' informal skate
"On Thursday, Lindgren hit the ice in a fresh set of pads for the Caps' informal skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. The design largely matches his previous look but adds more red, swapping it out for the white region on the bottom of his pads and adding a red stripe to the zigzags in the middle. The Capitals will commemorate Lindgren's zigzag pads this season as part of their in-arena promotional schedule,"
"Lindgren has used some version of the zigzag pattern on his pads since the early days of his NHL career, changing the colors of the design to match his current team. After joining the Capitals in 2022, he first wore a version with white on top and navy on the bottom before swapping the colors for the 2023-24 season. He also debuted a black, blue, and gold version last season to match the Capitals' Screaming Eagle jerseys,"
Charlie Lindgren revealed new Washington Capitals goalie pads that keep his zigzag motif while introducing more red, replacing the white bottom region and adding a red stripe through the zigzags. The Capitals plan an in-arena giveaway of an oven mitt featuring Lindgren and Logan Thompson pad designs to fans on November 26 against the Winnipeg Jets; the mitt image appears to use Lindgren's previous color scheme, and a full switch to a blue-and-red look for 2025-26 is uncertain. Lindgren has worn zigzag patterns since early in his NHL career, changing colors to match team uniforms, including versions in 2022, 2023-24, and a black-blue-gold variant for the Screaming Eagle jerseys. Informal skates end next week before training camp begins September 18.
