Capitals re-sign Bogdan Trineyev to two-year, $1.8 million contract

"ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Bogdan Trineyev to a two-year, $1.8 million contract, senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick announced today. The first year of Trineyev's contract will be a two-way contract ($850,000/$225,000), while the second year will be a one-way contract ($950,000). The Capitals selected Trineyev in the fourth round (117th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. Trineyev, 23, has appeared in two games with Washington this season and made his NHL debut on Dec. 13 at Winnipeg."

"Trineyev has split the 2025-26 season between the Capitals and the AHL's Hershey Bears, making his NHL debut against the Winnipeg Jets on December 13. He has had two separate stints with the Caps this year, playing in two total games. Trineyev has become one of Hershey's most integral players in his third full season with the club, playing the biggest role he has had yet as a professional under head coach Derek King. He is the first player off the bench for Hershey's penalty kill and also plays on the club's power play. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick has 20 points (9g, 11a) in 30 games for the Bears this season."
