Alex Alexeyev registers assist in first game with Hershey Bears during conditioning assignment: 'I thought he was very good'

After a long absence, Alex Alexeyev made a successful return, helping the Hershey Bears achieve a 5-4 overtime win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He recorded a primary assist, contributing to the team's comeback efforts. Sent down for a conditioning stint, Alexeyev showcased his skills and determination, impressing both coaches and fans. Even after more than three months without game time, he played a key role alongside Ethan Bear, demonstrating his potential as a defenseman for the Washington Capitals' future.

Hershey Bears head coach Todd Nelson was impressed with Alexeyev despite his lack of game action at the NHL level. 'I thought he was very good,' Nelson said.

Alexeyev was sent down to the AHL for a conditioning stint on Saturday morning to 'make sure that he's staying ready for when his number is called,' said Capitals head coach.
