We're Gonna Have to Wait Another Year for GTA VI
Briefly

Rockstar Games announced a delay of Grand Theft Auto VI to 2026, leading to mixed reactions from fans who have waited since 2013 for a new installment. While the publisher promises quality, many are doubtful of their adherence to the release date. The anticipation for GTA VI has become almost a cultural marker in itself, likened to significant life events. Despite the frustrations of long wait times, fans remain eager for new content, highlighting a longing for updates like trailers to sustain excitement in the interim.
By the time the new GTA comes out, it will have been 13 years since GTA V - as long as it's been since the Red Wedding on Game of Thrones.
Despite Rockstar giving a hard date of May 26, 2026, fans are skeptical as to whether the publisher can make good on that promise.
At this point, the lengthy wait times between games are inherent to their appeal (and frustration).
If Rockstar wants to make us wait another year, the least it can do is put out a new trailer.
