Warning: Someone Is Impersonating Me On Twitch, Do Not Fall For It
"I run a large gaming criticism platform with a Twitch-heavy audience. We're selecting one helldivers streamer for a 14-day featured growth case study focused on personality. You fit the profile. I will feature you across my blog for 14 days with structured articles, embedded streams, homepage placement, and direct calls-to-action to our Twitch audience. We track follower and viewer growth before and after."
"It's a classic scam, really. Pick a small website that has enough traffic and presence to point people toward but that isn't super well known so that nobody notices the impersonation going on."
A Twitch user named wolfsgaminghubb is impersonating a gaming critic by using their website logo and running a scam targeting streamers. The imposter contacted a Helldivers 2 streamer claiming to run a gaming criticism platform and offering a 14-day featured growth case study. The scam involved promises of blog features, embedded streams, homepage placement, and audience calls-to-action with tracked growth metrics. The imposter attempted to move conversations to Discord using a username similar to the real person's surname. The scheme targets small websites with sufficient traffic and presence to appear credible while remaining obscure enough to avoid detection. The streamer SaucySnark recognized the scam and alerted the actual website owner.
