"At MagicCon Atlanta, a booth hyping a new Secret Lair drop starring Furby unintentionally gave rise to speculation about another potential collab, after a Furby-suited human was seen dancing with a Kirby-suited human. On Saturday of the convention, Furby took its place on a miniature dance floor in front of its section, when a person in a massive Kirby costume joined the festivities, for nearly 30 minutes. Wizards of the Coast confirmed to GameSpot that this was simply a coincidence, and that a fan had a Kirby suit and decided to get in on the action."
"Despite this, speculation on social media soon began to spread, with posts on Instagram, Facebook, and more sharing images of the two dancing mascots. Before long, comments on those posts began to wonder if Kirby would indeed be joining Magic: The Gathering, while others were dismissing the idea, correctly guessing that the people in the Kirby suit were "random con-goers." If Nintendo were to explore the idea of a Magic: The Gathering collaboration, there are multiple examples of video game franchises joining the game recently, some with original card designs themed around the characters included."
