The Switch 2 has a mode that caps battery charge at 90 percent
Briefly

Nintendo has introduced a battery preservation mode for the upcoming Switch 2, designed to cap the console's charge at 90% to prolong battery life. This new feature, which can be toggled in system settings, aims to extend the longevity of lithium batteries, which can degrade when kept fully charged. Similar functions are already present in various smartphones and have been tested by Valve on the Steam Deck. The Switch 2 will be released on June 5, and pre-orders will be required to access this feature.
Many smartphones have been offering something like this for years. Valve has also been testing a similar feature for the Steam Deck.
Rechargeable lithium batteries can degrade if kept in a fully-charged state. So the feature will let users sacrifice 10 percent of playtime for ongoing battery maintenance.
