The Sinking City 2 Delayed To 2026 As War And Development Challenges Take Their Toll
"Developing a game during a war isn't something you can ever really prepare for, but something you need to keep adapting to,"
"At one point, we were losing power for days as drones and missiles hit our power grid. When that tactic stopped working, it became mass drone swarms every other night, going from midnight until dawn. You work all day, then spend the sleepless night listening for explosions, and somehow still need to function the next morning."
"completely different kind of design thinking"
The Sinking City 2 will release in the first half of 2026 after a development delay. Development slowed due to the war in Ukraine, including power outages and frequent drone activity that disrupted work and rest. The project’s move toward a full survival-horror approach required the team to learn new design methods and slower iteration. Thirteen new screenshots showcase environments and enemy designs, and an additional visual reveal is planned. Meanwhile, several recent and upcoming horror titles provide playable alternatives for interested players until the sequel arrives.
