"This left me with two choices. Rush through the development and release a sub-par product I would not be proud of or request we go our separate ways. I chose the latter."
Paranormal Activity: Threshold, a found footage horror game announced in 2024, will not be completed. Solo developer Brian Clarke and publisher DreadXP requested extended development time from Paramount, the franchise rights holder, but the request was denied. Faced with the choice between rushing development or ending the project, Clarke chose to part ways with Paramount. Clarke emphasized the split was amicable and thanked DreadXP for its support. Known for his previous game The Mortuary Assistant, Clarke plans to continue developing new horror projects that reflect his creative vision.
