Pokemon Legends: Z-A returns players to the Kalos region and reintroduces Mega Evolutions as a major gameplay feature. Hawlucha receives a Mega Evolution with ornate plumage, increased musculature, and a signature Flying Press attack that uses spinning momentum and displays its muscular chest. Mega Dragonite and Mega Victreebel are other newly revealed Mega forms. The game launches October 16 for Switch 2 and Switch, replacing traditional turn-based combat with real-time battles in Lumiose City. The Z-A Battle Club offers free-for-all matches for up to four players where the trainer who defeats the most Pokemon in three minutes wins. Mega Evolution Pokemon can knock out multiple opponents with single attacks.
"After bathing in the energy of Mega Evolution, its whole body has grown more muscular. Its signature move is Flying Press. It spins to increase the momentum of its dive when attacking. It shows off its muscular chest--both to its opponent and to its Trainer," Hawlucha's Mega Evolution Pokedex entry reads ( via Serebii).
Hawlucha is the third new Mega Evolution reveal so far for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The first one was Mega Dragonite, a power-up that adds massive wings to the powerhouse Pokemon's head, and recently, we got a brief taste of what a Pokemon horror movie would be like with the debut of Mega Victreebel. Pokemon Legends: Z-A launches on October 16 for Switch 2 and Switch, and it throws in some mega-changes alongside the Mega Evolutions.
Traditionally, Pokemon games have featured a turn-based battle system, but Pokemon Legends: Z-A flips the script with real-time fights in Lumiose City. Another interesting mode that players can take part in is the Z-A Battle Club: free-for-all battles for up to four players to take part in. The trainer who manages to defeat the most Pokemon within three minutes is crowned the victor in this fast-paced match, and Mega Evolution Pokemon have the power to knock out multiple Pokemon with a single attack.
