The first addition to Switch 2's GameCube library is a Mario multiplayer classic
Briefly

Nintendo recently announced that Super Mario Strikers will be the first addition to the GameCube library for the Switch 2. This title, launching on July 3, joins several other classics like Soulcalibur 2 and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Originally released in 2005, Super Mario Strikers is known for its unique, anarchic take on soccer, featuring Mario characters and allowing for unconventional gameplay. This update is part of a series of upcoming releases for the Switch 2's GameCube catalog, including fan favorites like Super Mario Sunshine and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.
Super Mario Strikers joins Soulcalibur 2, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and F-Zero GX on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service.
It aimed to do for soccer what Smash Bros. did for fighting games, introducing anarchic, cartoon gameplay, power-up items, and an all-star cast.
While it wasn't a massive hit, Super Mario Strikers is a fun sports title, especially in local multiplayer, allowing for creative rule bending.
Super Mario Strikers was one of seven titles Nintendo highlighted for future releases on the Switch 2's GameCube library.
