Julian Gerighty is leaving Massive Entertainment to join Battlefield Studios. Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft will continue supporting The Division franchise and maintain the teams responsible for its development. Ongoing projects named include The Division 2, The Division 2: Survivors, The Division Resurgence, and The Division 3. Gerighty described his departure as hanging up his go bag and expressed confidence that The Division's future burns bright. Gerighty co-directed The Division and The Division 2, served as creative director on Star Wars Outlaws, and became executive producer of The Division series in 2023, during which The Division: Heartland was canceled. Battlefield Studios recently launched Battlefield 6 in 2025 and delayed its Season 2 update to mid-February.
