Switch 2 Has Reportedly Broken A First-Month Sales Record In Japan

Switch 2 has achieved a record-breaking launch in Japan, selling 1,538,260 systems within its first month. This surpasses the previous record held by the Game Boy Advance. Other notable launches included the Nintendo DS and PS2, which sold 1.2 million and 1.1 million units respectively. Launched on June 5, Switch 2 also reached a global sales milestone of over 3.5 million units in just four days. A new bundle featuring Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be available in October for $500.
Switch 2 has reportedly broken the first-month hardware sales record in Japan, moving over 1.5 million systems, with a total of 1,538,260 units sold.
The previous record-holder was the Game Boy Advance, which sold 1,367,433 units in 2001, before Switch 2 surpassed it almost 25 years later.
Switch 2 launched on June 5 and sold over 3.5 million units globally within four days, marking the fastest-selling console in Nintendo's history.
A new bundle for Switch 2 featuring Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to launch in October for $500, alongside a current bundle with Mario Kart World.
