Hello Games has announced a major update for No Man's Sky called Beacon, alongside a version release for Switch 2. Launching June 4, the update overhauls space settlements, introducing new NPC interactions and player management elements similar to Fallout 76. The next day, the Switch 2 upgrade will enhance resolution, framerate, and include multiplayer for the first time. This upgrade is free for current owners, contrasting with other Switch titles that charge for enhancements, reinforcing No Man's Sky's commitment to improving player experience.
Beacon goes live on June 4 across all platforms and overhauls space settlements, adding a whole new layer of civic life and conflict to galactic exploration.
The Switch 2 upgrade, meanwhile, drops on June 5. In a trailer for the new version, studio head Sean Murray explained the improvements made for Nintendo's new console.
